The Paris of Sindbad Vail is captured in these vintage post cards that date from the late 1940s and early 1950s.

The stairs that descend from the Sacre-Cœur have changed little over the years as seen in this series of photos taken in 1952, 1988 and 2012.  Perhaps the only difference is the graffiti on the walls at the left in the last photo, a sign of our times.

These post card photos capture the essence of the Paris that has remained unchanged (except for the I. M. Pei dome at the Musée du Louvre) and perhaps some structures that have been edited by the edition publishers.  This was the Paris of Sindbad Vail as he launched his literary journal devoted to new writers.

The next post to this blog will examine POINTS 20, the last issue published by Vail.  After that an examination of the POINTS SHORT STORY ANTHOLOGY will follow.  Future posts to this blog will revise earlier examinations of POINTS, adding additional stories and poems, perhaps eventually the entire contents of every issue will be presented.
